    Naked Portafilter - first impressions

Posted by Stuart on 15th Apr 2014

The quality of this product is excellent. It fitted perfectly into my Vibiemme, in fact looks of a higher quality that the original with a longer more substantial handle supporting a change in diameter towards the end. The naked filler worked well using the larger sized double shot baskets, producing coffee as good as the original with the added benefit of being able to see the extraction and ensuring it was loaded correctly and produced an even flow, plus it was easier to clean. The single shot basket however was a disaster. The extraction splattered all over the machine and bench as it came out causing one hell of a mess. Not sure yet if this can be overcome with a courser grind but for now has been banned outside the old filler.

Am very happy with my purchase. Good quality and good service. It's added a new dimension to my coffee making journey. The triple basket sure holds a lot of coffee, which can be good or bad. I've been using a double basket in the naked holder, and am very pleased with the results
