CRAFT BEAUTIFUL ESPRESSO
High-end ECM e61 espresso brewing group
Designed by Faema in 1961, the e61 brewing group remains the industry standard for commercial coffee. ECMs own interpretation of this iconic brewing group delivers the function and temperature stability to craft stunning espresso.
Commercial filter holders - single and double
Full size heavy duty chromed brass commercial filter holders allow you to extract espresso just like the professionals. Mechanika Slim includes both a single filter holder and double filter holder finished with high gloss black plastic handles and metal ends.
Heat Exchanger boiler delivers hot fresh brewing water at just the right temperature
Fresh water for brewing espresso is delivered via the heat exchanger where it is flash heated before delivery to the brewing group.
Excellent thermal stability
Heavy duty stainless steel boiler with heat-exchanger circulation system on the Mechanik Slim keeps the brewing system at the ideal brewing temperature. At idle heated water is circulated through the brewing system from the heat exchanger towards the brewing group - this transfers heat from the boiler to the brew group to maintain the correct brew temperature. When brewing coffee, fresh water is introduced to the heat-exchanger which displaces already heated water through the brewing group and into your espresso.
Digital PID temperature control delivers stable brew temperature
Heating of the boiler is controlled by a digital temperature controller - this system constantly switches the heating system to maintain consistent and stable brew water temperature. This system improves espresso consistency by eliminating brewing at too high or too low temperature - for more consistent and better tasting espresso.
Set the right temperature to suit your coffee
Brew and boiler temperature can be adjusted across three settings (Low, Medium, High) to suit your taste and the coffee you are using. Many specialty coffees are best extracted at a particular temperature - generally medium roast coffe is extracted at 88 to 92 degrees celcius, with darker roast being extracted at lower temperatures, and lighter roast being extracted at higher temperatures. You can adjust the brew temperature as per the coffee suppliers guidance, or experiment yourself. Or just leave it on the factory setting - you will still make amazing espresso.
Quality 15 bar vibration pump
Industry standard 15 bar vibration pump delivers pressurised water to the brewing system.
Adjustable Over Pressure Valve (OPV)
You can adjust the brew pressure. Brew pressure can be easily adjusted - the OPV (Over Pressure Valve) adjustment is located under the top cover of the machine. Remove the top cover to access the pressure adjustment - rotate the adjustment using a flat bladed screwdriver.
Digital timer
Calculate your espresso extraction to precision. Pre-infusion and espresso extraction are displayed in seconds. When you lift the brew lever the pre-infusion counter will count down from 5 seconds, before a 3 second pause, then the espresso timer will count up until the extraction is stopped.
STEAM MILK LIKE THE PROFESSIONALS
Professional quality steam for cafe quality milk
Steam is delivered from a generous 1.9L stainless steel insulated boiler.
Powerful steam - always ready to go
Ready at a moments notice - steam is always available (when the machine is at operating temperature) to help you create delicious velvety steamed milk for your favourite cappuccinos, lattes, and flat whites.
Steam milk while brewing coffee
Stainless steel boiler with heat exchange system allows you to draw steam or water from the boiler while brewing espresso. This is the same proven system used on high-end commercial espresso coffee machines.
Rotary taps
Easy and intuitive to use - open the tap to start the steam. Tap stays open so you can position the milk jug with both hands.
Steam arm with ball-joint connection - position to suit your style
Ball joint steam arm connection makes it easy to position your steam arm to suit your milk steaming technique - steam arm position is adjustable through 3 axis of movement. Position the steam tip back over the drip tray to purge after each use.
Insulated steam arm with "cool-touch" technology - easier to clean
"Cool-touch" technology helps to improve steam power while making the steam arm easier to clean. The steam arm is lined with a teflon tube to deliver maximum heat energy into the milk and minimise heating of the steam arm itself. Milk is less likely to stick to the steam arm - simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
Change steam outlet to suit your needs
A range of original ECM steam arm tips are available to suit diffeent milk frothing requirements - these are not included with your Mechanika Slim but are available as separate accessories.
GREAT FUNCTION AND EASE OF USE
Generous 2.8L internal water tank
Generous water tank allows for plenty of use between refilling. Large open water tank can be removed for filling or filled directly in a pour-over fashion. Tank supply delivers the flexibility of being able to easily relocate your machine.
94mm cup clearance
Filter holder outlets are 94mm above the drip tray allowing clearance for a range of cups and mugs. Upgrade to a bottomless filter holder for even more cup clearance.
Cleaning and maintenance
Brewing system can be back flushed the same as a commercial espresso machine. Regular back flush cleaning of the brewing system is recommended to remove coffee residue and maintain beautiful tasting espresso.
